In Need Of Good Chiropractic Care? Try These Tips!

Filled under:

Physical pain can be debilitating. Sharp pain that you don't understand is really frustrating. This can be quite frightening, making it even more important to know how to avoid more back pains. The advice in this piece can help.
Be mindful of your sleeping position if you're suffering from back pain issues. Try placing a pillow underneath your shoulders and head. Then roll up some towels and put them under your necks as well as your neck. This makes sure the main curves of the body are stabilized. Your bed must be quite comfortable.
Be sure to get out of your bed the right way. Before getting up, stretch before slowly raising. Next, swing your legs out and to the floor while supporting yourself with your arms. Getting out of bed carefully reduces your chance of hurting your spine.
Your immune system can benefit from chiropractic care. Your nervous system and immune system are affected when your spine is out of alignment. By having your spine aligned, the blood flow to the nervous system increases. In turn the additional blood helps your body to fend off an infection.
Discuss the possibility of frequency discounts with your chiropractor's office. Chiropractic care often implies a series of office visits. You may even need to visit them multiple times every week for several months. This can really add up over time. Because of this, many offices offer discounts for people making multiple visits. This does a lot to cut costs.
Don't pick your chiropractor blindly. Most chiropractors want to assist you, but others cannot be trusted. It is a fact that some chiropractors can cause more harm to your body. Always vet any chiropractor you are thinking about using in advance of any visit.
If you are looking for a chiropractor, be sure to check any references thoroughly before you make an appointment. Though most chiropractors really care about your health, some continue treatments past the point of necessity. Whenever possible, look for reviews and get referrals from medical doctors.
The way you sleep is important if you have issues with your back. One good idea would be to get a towel rolled up so you can place it under the neck when it's bed time. When doing this your head is able to drop down, and a regular pillow actually keeps your head pushed forward.
When carrying a wallet, don't place it inside your back pocket. Believe it or not, doing that can cause some abnormal lower back strain. This actually puts pressure on your lower back and the nerves that are connected to your colon, reproductive organs, bladder, and back of legs. Try keeping a wallet in your pocket towards the front to keep this from happening.
Carry your purse properly to avoid pain in your neck, back and shoulder. Do not carry it on your shoulder at all times. Don't let it get too heavy, either. Try removing the items you don't need with you all the time to lighten the load.
Avoid chiropractors that try to load you up with dietary pills, herbal and homeopathic products. If such products are sold in their practice, they may be not be trustworthy. You should stick with your doctors and nutritionists as a source for these things.
As you have read in this article, back pain doesn't have to take over your life. There are a plethora of options to help with the pain you feel. Use these tips and you'll feel better in no time.

Top Facebook Nations

United States remains on top with 166 million users, followed by Brazil and India. Brazil has been growing aggressively in the past 12 months with close to 100% growth rate and has surpassed India to become Facebook Nation No. 2.
Thailand also registered almost 100% growth rate – from 8.4 million in September 2011 to 16.8 in September 2012. Egypt remains the top Facebook nation in the Middle East region and managed to overtake Venezuala and Chile to clinch the 20th spot in the list, thanks to its 108% growth. But that growth rate seems meager compared to Japan’s growth rate of over 500% – growing from 2.5 million to 15.5 million users in the 12 months period!
The total number of users in the top 20 Facebook nations is 682.5 million, or 72% of total Facebook users globally. Coincidentally, all these nations are in the More Than 10 Million Users grouping.

Massive Pakistani earthquake pushes brand new 18 metre high island up from the sea

  • The mountain-like island appeared 600m off Pakistan's Gwadar coast
  • The earthquake triggered a movement of gases in the earth under the sea
  • This pushed earth up to the surface in something akin to a 'mud volcano'
  • Such land masses have appeared after quakes in Pakistan in 1999 and 2010

The 7.7-magnitude quake struck on Tuesday in Baluchistan's remote Awaran
district, killing more than 200 people and affecting hundreds of thousands.

Off the coastline near the port of Gwadar, some 400 kilometres (250 miles) from the epicentre, locals were astonished to see a new piece of land surface from the waves.

"It is not a small thing, but a huge thing which has emerged from under the water," Gwadar resident Muhammad Rustam told AFP. "It looked very, very strange to me and also a bit scary because suddenly a huge thing has emerged from the water."

Mohammad Danish, a marine biologist from Pakistan's National Institute of Oceanography, said a team of experts had visited the island and found methane gas rising.

"Our team found bubbles rising from the surface of the island which caught fire when a match was lit and we forbade our team to start any flame. It is methane gas," Danish said on GEO television news.

The island is about 60 to 70 feet (18 to 21 metres) high, up to 300 feet
wide and up to 120 feet long, he said. It sits about 200 metres away from the coast.

Gary Gibson, a seismologist with Australia's University of Melbourne, said the new island was likely to be a "mud volcano", created by methane gas forcing material upwards during the violent shaking of the earthquake.

"It's happened before in that area but it's certainly an unusual event,
very rare," Gibson told AFP, adding that it was "very curious" to see such activity some 400 kilometres from the quake's epicentre.

The so-called island is not a fixed structure but a body of mud that will be broken down by wave activity and dispersed over time, the scientist said.

A similar event happened in the same area in 1945 when an 8.1-magnitude
earthquake at Makran triggered the formation of mud volcanoes off Gwadar.

Professor Shamim Ahmed Shaikh, chairman of the department of geology at
Karachi University, said the island, which has not been named, would disperse within a couple of months.

He said it happens along the Makran coast because of the complex
relationship between tectonic plates in the area. Pakistan sits close to the junction of three plates -- the Indian, Arabian and Eurasian.

"About a year back an island of almost similar size had surfaced at the
similar distance from the coast in the Makran region. This would disperse in a week to a couple of months," Shaikh told AFP.

Gibson said the temporary island was very different from the permanent
uplift seen during major "subduction zone" earthquakes, where plate collisions force the Earth's crust suddenly and sometimes dramatically upwards.

For example, in the massive 9.5-magnitude earthquake in Chile in 1960 --
known as the world's largest ever -- whole fishing villages were thrust
"several metres" upwards and wharves suddenly located hundreds of metres
inland, Gibson said.

Such uplift events are relatively common in the Pacific's so-called "Ring of Fire", a hotbed of seismic and volcanic activity at the junction of several tectonic plates.

A thundering 8.0-magnitude quake in the Solomon Islands in 2007 thrust
Ranogga Island upwards by three metres, exposing submerged reefs once popular with divers and killing the vibrant corals, expanding the shoreline outwards by several metres in the process.

During the massive 9.2-magnitude earthquake off Sumatra which triggered a devastating tsunami across the Indian Ocean in 2004, several islands were pushed upwards while others subsided into the ocean.

The Aceh coast dropped permanently by one metre while Simeulue Island was lifted by as much as 1.5 metres, exposing the surrounding reef which became the island's new fringe.

6 Future Technology Trends That Already Exist

While taking the space elevator up to the lunar casino for the weekend isn’t an option yet, we are now living on the cusp of a sci-fi future. Driverless cars, distributed manufacturing, and wicked-fast quantum processors all promise to transform the world…and how we interact with it. Here’s a look at thirteen future technology trends that are already being developed.

1. Driverless Cars
Using cameras, radar, and laser range-finders, Google’s driverless cars have already logged over 300,000 accident-free autonomous miles. Three states (CA, NV, FL) presently permit testing of autonomous vehicles. Should driverless cars prove themselves safe, they have the potential to save tens of thousands of lives per year and revolutionize the way we travel.
.
2. Advances in Stem Cell Research
Stem cells are unspecialized cells that can be coaxed into growing into specialized functions. Treatment potential for diseases like cancer, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, ALS, and several other conditions is enormous. Many studies that require embryonic sources have met significant resistance in the U.S., but researchers continue to discover alternative sources for stem cells.

 3. Bionic Eyes
The world’s first self-contained bionic eye, the Alpha IMS, connects directly to the brain via electrodes. Though the image quality is nowhere near 20/20, future iterations should be able to restore sight for some types of blindness. Within a few years, we’ll be able to add bionic contact lenses to this list.

  4. Exoskeletons for Restored Mobility

Ekso Bionics, MindWalker and ReWalk have all developed wearable exoskeletons designed to help people with lower-limb disabilities walk. Ekso and ReWalk models achieve this with body controls, while MindWalker uses a non-invasive Brain / Neural Computer Interface.
Exoskeletons for Restored Mobility Future Technology Trends

5. 3D Printing in the Home
Injection-mold 3D printers have been around for several years, but recent developments are simultaneously decreasing costs and adding the types of printable materials (including metal). Coupled with open-source design, 3D printers allow for the creation of musical instruments, camera lenses, clothes, and a plethora of other cool stuff.

6.Wearable Computers

The idea of strapping a computer to your wrist is nothing new, but wearable computers will extend beyond this. Google Glass is currently the most popular example in this category, but other uses include medical monitoring and sensing, industrial applications, even “smart textiles” that adapt to conditions and provide bio-feedback.

 iPhone Fingerprint Scanner Hacked

A group of German hackers claimed to have cracked the iPhone fingerprint scanner on Sunday, just two days after Apple Inc launched the technology that it promises will better protect devices from criminals and snoopers seeking access.
During the launch, Apple claimed the new iPhone with a fingerprint sensor was 'much more secure than previous fingerprint technology.'
Hackers became so keen to prove the tech giant wrong that a security researcher called Nick DePetrillo even set up an online race to be the first to bypass the technology.
The hacker filmed in the video goes by the nickname "Star Bug." Dirk Engling, a spokesperson for the CCC, said that what Star Bug has done wasn't particularly challenging, even for a non-professional hacker. "The CCC published everything that you would need to fool a fingerprint sensor 10 years ago," he told ABC News. "Really, the hardest part was to get our hands on an iPhone 5S because it was sold out."
First, the fingerprint of the enrolled user is photographed with 2400 dpi resolution. The resulting image is then cleaned up, inverted and laser printed with 1200 dpi onto transparent sheet with a thick toner setting. Finally, pink latex milk or white woodglue is smeared into the pattern created by the toner onto the transparent sheet. After it cures, the thin latex sheet is lifted from the sheet, breathed on to make it a tiny bit moist and then placed onto the sensor to unlock the phone.
The two of them each put up $100 toward a prize for the contest winner, then set up a website inviting others to contribute. While the booty now includes more than $13,000 in cash, it was not clear that the CCC would receive the full payout, even if DePetrillo and Graham declared them winners.

Rules to Internet Security:Check the Strength of Passwords

In today’s technology-powered world, everything from our emails, social networking sites to our Internet banking details is protected by invisible walls built on code, accessible by us with a string of characters, also known as the password.

And why not? You get easy access to it regardless of where you go, where you are, and let’s not forget the convenience of not having to queue up to settle your banking and official matters (that electricity bill isn’t going to pay itself).

Creating a Strong password

So passwords are important, but do you know what makes for a strong password? The general census, which is available everywhere on the Net, and I mean everywhere, is that it should NOT
  • contain words that can be found in the dictionary,
  • be in sequence or in repeated characters.
  • contain particulars about your name, birth dates, social security, passport, driver’s license or any identifying documents. The same goes for details of your close family members.

Firefox OS

iOS and Android are great, but they each have their own rules and policies that certainly inhibit the creative efforts of developers. Mozilla has since decided to build a new mobile operating system from scratch, one that will focus on true openness, freedom and user choice. It’s Firefox OS.
Firefox OS is built on Gonk, Gecko and Gaia software layers – for the rest of us, it means it is built on open source, and it carries web technologies such as HTML5 and CSS3.

Developers can create and debut web apps without the blockade of requirements set by app stores, and users could even customize the OS based on their needs. Currently the OS has made its debut on Android-compatible phones, and the impression so far, is great.
You can use the OS to do essential tasks you do on iOS or Android: calling friends, browsing web, taking photos, playing games, they are all possible on Firefox OS, set to rock the smartphone market.

The Apple iPhone 5s  features
A year after Apple slimmed down its rock-solid iPhone 4S and introduced the world to the svelte iPhone 5, its latest superphone - the Apple iPhone 5s - has been announced and we've just had an exclusive hands-on.
Priced from £549 contract free due for release on 20 September 2013, the iPhone 5s stand-out features include fingerprint recognition technology, a vastly improved camera and quicker A7 processor and 64-bit architecture. Plus, of course, iOS 7, which will land for upgrade on the 18 September.

In a crowded mobile market, the new iPhone 5s will do battle with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S4, the HTC One and the Sony Xperia Z for the undisputed premium smartphone crown of 2013. Apple also announced the affordable iPhone 5c, so let's take a look at what sets its top-of-the-range cousin apart.

iPhone 5s: Size and build

In the hand the iPhone 5s feels much like the iPhone 5, with the 7.6mm depth and 112g weight giving a lightweight yet premium experience.
At 123.8mm tall, it fits into a pocket without trouble. Unlike the colour-coordinated iPhone 5c, the iPhone 5s comes three shades - Gold, Silver and Space Grey - adding a top-quality differentiator to Apple's most expensive handset - the 64Gb model, contract free, costs £709.
It weighs the same as the iPhone 5 and is lighter than all of its major competitors. In typical Apple engineering fashion, each iPhone 5S goes through a rigorous build and quality control process. And it shows.

The external changes might not look that different, but it feels an expensive piece of kit. Shame that the chamfered edges remain - the scuffing and scratching issue is a real thing and Apple was keen to promote its bespoke iPhone 5s covers at the announcement.

Button and hardware placements pretty much replicates that of the iPhone 5, with the only change being an improved flash on  the back and the Touch ID sensor that's built into the home screen. We'll come onto that.

Button and hardware placements pretty much replicates that of the iPhone 5, with the only change being an improved flash on  the back and the Touch ID sensor that's built into the home screen. We'll come onto that...

iPhone 5s: Features

The standout new feature here is the fingerprint scanner, which Apple calls Touch ID. Paving the way for a new era in smartphone banking, content purchasing and phone security, the scanner is built right into home button. This means you'll do away with the keypad to get into your phone, just press your assigned finger or thumb to unlock it. The same goes for buying iTunes content.
Apple iPhone 5s: What you need to know
Apple's Phil Schiller also said that no data would be stored on cloud servers, just the hardware itself. Giving it a quick try out, we found the setup process very straightforward - press your finger on the button 20 or 30 times to register it -  and a quick and effective way of bypassing what now seems an old security method in the way of number pecking. We'll doubtless see a glut of apps to take advantage of this in the next few weeks and months.

Being the premium super phone in Apple's line-up, you'd expect its feature-set to earn its keep. And you'd be right. The iPhone 5s sports an improved 8 megapixel, 1.5ยต pixel iSight camera on the back that, among other things, can shoot in slo-mo (720p at 120fps).
The effect is great and will undoubtedly spawn a new wave of GIF memes and slowed-down footy skills. In addition, you get image stabilisation that combines ten shots a second to produce the best picture, a new f/2.2 aperture and 15% bigger sensor area than the iPhone 5.
In our hands-on, it seemed to take noticeably crisper pictures than the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C. However, it's still some way off what the outrageous 41-megapixel Nokia Lumia 1020 can produce. As a comparison, the HTC One, Sony Xperia Z and Samsung Galaxy S4 have 4mp, 13.1mp and 13mp rear-facing cameras respectively.
Apple iOS 7 apps: 10 things you need to know
Another camera improvement is the new True Tone flash, which picks the right light for its environment to improve the picture being taken. It worked well in the halogen-tinged demo area, giving a slightly better skin tone representation. The front camera takes 1.2MP photos.(1280x960) and records video at 720p.

The iPhone 5S supports a serious selection of 4G and LTE frequencies, which should mean compatibility with all major network providers. Wireless connectivity remains at N WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. There's no NFC

Facebook considers adding profile photos to facial recognition.

The attainable move, that Facebook unconcealed in associate degree update to its knowledge use policy on Thursday, is meant to enhance the performance of its "Tag Suggest" feature. The feature uses automatic face recognition technology to hurry up the method of labeling or "tagging" friends and acquaintances United Nations agency seem in photos announce on the network.

The technology presently mechanically identifies faces in fresh uploaded photos by scrutiny them solely to previous snapshots within which users were labelled. Facebook users will opt to take away tags distinguishing them in photos announce by others on the positioning.

The changes would return at a time once Facebook and different net companies' privacy practices ar underneath scrutiny, following the revelations of a U.S. government surveillance program.

Facebook, Google opposition and different firms have insisted that they need ne'er participated in any program giving the govt direct access to their laptop servers which they solely offer data in response to specific requests, when careful review and PRN by law.

Facebook Chief Privacy Officer Erin Egan same that adding members' public profile photos would provide users higher management over their personal data, by creating it easier to spot announce photos within which they seem."Our goal is to facilitate tagging so that people know when there are photos of them on our service," Egan said.
She stressed that Facebook users uncomfortable with facial recognition technology will still be able to "opt out" of the Tag Suggest feature altogether, in which case the person's public profile photo would not be included in the facial recognition database.
Facial recognition technology has been a sensitive issue for technology companies, raising concerns among some privacy advocates and government officials. Tag Suggest, which the company introduced in 2011, is not available in Europe due to concerns raised by regulators there.
Google's social network, Google+, also employs similar technology, but requires user consent. And it has banned third-party software makers from using facial recognition technology in apps designed for its Glass wearable computer.
Egan said Facebook was not currently using facial recognition technology for any other features, but that could change.
"Can I say that we will never use facial recognition technology for any other purposes? Absolutely not," Egan said. But, she noted, "if we decided to use it in different ways we will continue to provide people transparency about that and we will continue to provide control."
Facebook also amended its Statement of Rights and Responsibilities on Thursday, adding and tweaking the language so that members under 18 years of age are deemed to have affirmed that a parent or legal guardian has agreed to allow marketers to use some of their personal information in ads.

The girl who went to Kate and Pippa's school, the £15bn ($22.8bn) Google chief and a romance that has rocked Silicon Valley

A British woman who left London in search of fame and fortune with Google is at the centre of Silicon Valley gossip after striking up a romance with the search engine’s married multi-billionaire founder.
Only last year, Amanda Rosenberg was so friendless after moving to San Francisco that she spoke of eating her lunch alone in the toilets.
But the 27-year-old, who boarded at £31,000-a-year Marlborough College with Princess Eugenie and Kate and Pippa Middleton, certainly seems to  have turned things around – for she was last night named as the new lover of Sergey Brin, 40.
Google has been rocked by talk of the romance, and a spokesman yesterday confirmed that Brin – one of the world’s richest men with a £15billion fortune – has for several months been living apart from his wife of six years Anne Wojcicki, the mother of his two children.
If they divorce, Californian law suggests their massive fortune would have to be halved – although they reportedly signed a strict pre-nuptial agreement.
While the internet was agog with talk of Brin romancing his much younger employee, the Daily Mail tracked down a distinctly unsurprised former boyfriend of Miss Rosenberg – who said she ‘knew the power of her womanly ways’.
Ewan Butler, 28, a trainee teacher living with his parents in Darlington, said: ‘Amanda’s a good looking girl, and she knows she is.
'And she’s good at “playing” men – she played me.’
Brin’s relationship with Rosenberg emerged only yesterday – but the pair were pictured together earlier this year at a New York Fashion Week event, both wearing the controversial Google Glass computerised spectacles for which she is marketing manager.

An employee of Google since she graduated with a communications degree from Leeds University, she initially worked for the internet giant in London before last year moving to San Francisco to work at its Silicon Valley nerve centre.
She soon won a role promoting Google Glass, widely criticised as the glasses which enable users to film and broadcast over the internet everything they see non-stop, worrying privacy campaigners.

Welcome

This is my First  post related to Technology World...!!

Nintendo

Nintendo will be launching a new portable gaming system in October. It's called the Nintendo 2DS. It's a 3DS without the 3D, and it's shaped like a thin piece of cake.
"This is an entry-level handheld gaming system," Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime told Kotaku earlier this week when we got our hands on the unusual device.

THE DETAILS

The system is compatible with all 3DS and DS games. Its two screens are the same size as those of the original 3DS, smaller than those on the Nintendo 3DS XL. The 2DS' upper screen will not render graphics in 3D, though the system's two outward-facing cameras will still take photos and video in 3D, saving those files on a memory card so that they can be transferred to hardware that does display stereoscopic 3D imagery.
The system launches on October 12 in North America, the same day as the release of the first major next-gen handheld Pokemon games, Pokemon X and Y. Those games will only work on post-DS systems, a line that now includes 3DS, 3DS XL and 2DS.

The 2DS will sell for $129.99 and will be available in red or blue. That price makes it $40 cheaper than the Nintendo 3DS and $70 cheaper than the Nintendo 3DS XL (and recently price-dropped PlayStation Vita).
